2. SYNOPSIS

Franck, a young man studying business in Paris, returns to the family home to spend a period as an intern at the factory where his father has been working for thirty years. Franck is assigned to the Human Resources Department. Confident, believes he can unlock the negotiations on reducing working hours to 35 hours, who have long faced the management and unions. But he discovers that their efforts are actually serving to implement a restructuring plan that involves the dismissal of some employees, including his father.

3. WHY "Human Resources" IS A FILM CAREER. NOTES FOR THE ENTERTAINER .

could say that the issue raises the vocational end of the film when the protagonist asks his friend: "What is your place?". A question that is probably Franck himself. Taking

backdrop of the French labor issue of reducing working hours to 35 hours per week, Laurent Cantet debut gives us as an unpretentious film. It's simple and everyday as life itself. Franck's story is that of a young man with a promising future that puts the best of himself when doing an internship. He knows his future is at stake and can be a good name in the business world.

He arrives with his college degree and self-reliance, but also her naivete in thinking that all companies are partners and that everything is easily solved. But there comes a time when you feel manipulated by the "top" to humiliate the workforce "at the bottom." Appears then, an identity problem. What is your site?, "Men's" tie "to applaud him and tempt him with a job, or does the men's" monkey "to which your father?. Who should sit down to eat in the canteen of the company? Franck finds that, unaware, has already chosen sides: eat with them, going to head in the car, receives congratulations ...

could say that conversion is a process caused by the dismissal of his father, which in some ways, he is complicit. In a short time receive a job offer and discover the tactics of the employer. It is the moment of crisis in which the film takes a turn. Franck feels used to undermine even his father. He has given his word to the unions, but this strategy ends up hurting workers.

Very interesting for the vocational dimension is the issue of expectations. What are the expectations of Franck? What those of their parents?. Some critics the film accentuates the drama and the family stress: the parent-child pairs, young-old, education, no education. From here we can discuss with the young: what expectations about vocations, religious or priestly life are?, Who do you identify?, "Dream of power or the service?. Franck

For this experience is initiatory and will serve to answer for his place in the world.
But that's not all, Laurent Canlet presents the character of Frank in a particular context with which we can not forget. This film has caused much debate on the labor issue that took place in France on reducing of hours of work. While this can divert us from the vocational aspect, we can not marginalize. It should be remembered that the reason for this film, according to its director, would be "people in France has resumed its interest in the social movement, which reappeared in '95, a major transport strike. The people who were victims of this strike decided to support the strikers, instead of being angry with them, began to emerge institutions to combat unemployment, homelessness, discrimination against foreigners. And the film has been perhaps the reflection of it "(The Nation, 13 / 6).
appear in the film two conceptions of work and life of the worker are present issues of claim and submission, alienation and class consciousness, manual labor and administrative work of social degradation and unemployment. But they are issues that go beyond our intentions "vocational" and can stray from the debate. However, if time permits, can also be an opportunity to come closer to this reality as complex and difficult as the labor market. Is it a reality that concerns us and challenges us?
For deeper work in this area recommend Article http://www.atico.cl/pages/archivo/uno.html

The moderator will evaluate whether or not to warn the group to focus and note especially the character of Franck, apart from labor problems. Depend on their intentions.

- Psalm of SOLIDARITY
Here I am, stuck in a world confused and tense.
This world, O Lord of men where I live.
This company agitated and nervous, tired and hard where only live and have strong rights.
This society, Lord, full of injustices,
underworld where the law is made
truth lies.
where the law of the jungle is the whip made
power
where the law of love has
violence law,
where the law has been based standard of abuse.
Here I am, wanting to be free in my utopia, walled enclosure
, persecuted,
in impasse.

I want to be free. I live from my roots;
be myself;
have my original.
I open up and hand the men I pass
;
make friendship

I make way

step without losing my identity.

I do not want to be alone. I do not want to sell to anyone.
I believe, Lord Jesus, in the utopia

left us;
in the alternative,

the challenge of the Community.
I refuse to live alone.
I seek, Lord,
solidarity.

I do not like, Lord Jesus,
this society that I have received. Disagree
systems or structures oppressive.
not go into the game of their tentacles.
My protest, Lord, against the old, worn.
my cry, Lord, is against the law
enslaves man.

want to change my life. I
inner strength to change the world.
wish to pledge, commit in the world of suffering;
stop saying words and getting wet just facts.
I live in my body the pain of broken men;
'survive' with just surviving;
know what living with constant death rate.
man's voice I want to be gagged. And hands tied.
I want to be the cry of men who die
at night.

Here I am, Lord Jesus, with open hands to the aid
close to the heart that suffers;
wanting to be nonviolent.
Here I am, Lord, to learn that only life-changing love, without hatred
to denounce injustices;
to bring hope to the downtrodden man
.

Lord Jesus, I know your life is too complicated.
I know you fought for peace and justice and freedom;
gave it all for the love and truth;
forgiving and restoring human dignity to many men.
who lived among marginalized and you took his life.
I know that you proclaimed that God was Father to them that
called to live in your kingdom to men
broken heart;
you were sincere, genuine, transparent.
I know you do not understand, that you stand alone.

I know you and I cornered the powerful condemned;
put you in jail and I sat on the bench;
you nailed to a tree like a damn;
killed you for things being equal.
I know that your death was a failure. Failure!

But I know you gave your life with love
your life, your lifestyle could not be in the grave;
your Father, Lord of History
,
you up, you stood up.
I know that you rose.
I know. And I believe in you,
RISEN LORD.

2. Synopsis

Jorge (Ricardo Darin), 28, is the rising star of the literature in Argentina, but actually lives in the romantic stories written for a news magazine. One night he meets Laura (Soledad Villamil), a dreamer waitress who is awaiting the return of her boyfriend, an artist who is mounting an exhibition in Uruguay and has no news for months. Laura and George become a couple, and she believes that George has a great talent, insists that type literature "truth." But the coexistence between them is deteriorating and their relationship ends in breaking. Over nearly two decades, we discover the joys and hopes, disappointments and hopes of these two characters and their environment, told with humor, emotion, large doses of irony and a pinch of sarcasm.

3. WHY "Same Love, Same Rain" IS AN FILM CAREER. NOTES FOR THE ENTERTAINER .

"Same Love, Same Rain" is a film that depicts the life of an eternal teenager over twenty years. Begins and ends, so evocative, with the refrain of a children's choir curiously formed by adults, who sing in a burlesque one "has a girlfriend, a girlfriend, a girlfriend." In between, a true story like a story, narrated by a writer of short stories.

Jorge (Ricardo Darin), our protagonist is stuck as a writer. Has continued to write his stories focus on politicians to love stories that do not interest in the magazine where she works. Has resigned to their creative freedom and professional freedom and personal. Next to it is Laura (Soledad Villanil) honest girl above all, with a much stronger personality and determination. His saying "when I propose something ..." sounds like a repeated contrast to the hesitant attitude Jorge. Together

try to function as partners, but the chemical is broken when Laura tries to push George to do something more, to be a real writer. George did not even try. Not grow, not make decisions, especially with regard to a stable love life. Around it all go married. Recognize their doubts and contradictions, but "pull", despite envy George for "to live an experience new every day. "
When asked Laura to marry, Jorge need to think. "It's a decision," he says, and that terrifies him. And finally, do not even think about it, so that his relationship with Laura is going to hell.

also appears in the film reflected the working life of George in the magazine "Stuff" and the influences of socio-political situation of Argentina in the 80 and 90. In his work, George does things like that every time you less, just for pure accommodation to life situations, and chases him remorse for the help that his friend never paid Mastronardi.

Campanella's film career to raise the issue of decision and fear that accompanies it, especially when it comes to making key decisions on fidelity, marriage, in this case. The last dialog gives us the key, "for fear I would write," says George, "Out of fear I lost you, lest I make a laburo I hate, I failed to Mastronardi and his son." So George is not a movie hero, but a confused person with a lot of mistakes. Is flesh and blood like us.

in the film is debatable how there is the fragility of the relationship and in particular the sexual relationship (not explicit). However serves well for a description of the truth; social to which one can not close my eyes.

The film can be a bit long, so it is not for teenagers. But suggest that to maintain attention, give the first clues or even some of the questions as a guide. Are advised to take note of phrases spoken by the protagonist off, some of them are memorable.

As Toni says Palleja Same Love, Same Rain, "is a rich tale of human weakness, the passage of time and the weight of their environment."

group B. Thomas Merton Prayer

God and my Lord, I do not know where.
not envision the road ahead me.
I do not even really know myself.
And the fact is that I think your will
does not mean they really are doing.
But I think the desire to please
actually makes you like.
And I hope you never do anything apart from that desire.
And I'm sure if I do that,
lead me the right path
though I completely unknown.
I dare say I want to always rely on you.
Although more than once may be like I'm lost and the shadow of death I will fear no
because you are always with me
and never let me feel alone in my struggles. After praying

prayer together, invites young people to make repeated and "echoes" of the phrase that has touched them.

Narrator: When going to set off a running approached him, knelt before him and asked. Young
Good Master, what must I do to inherit eternal life?
Jesus: Why call me good? Only God is good. You know the commandments: Thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not commit adultery, not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, no scam, Honour thy father and thy mother.
Young Teacher, all these I have kept since his youth.
Narrator: Jesus looked at him fondly and said: Jesus
: One thing you lack: go, sell what you have and give to the poor you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.
Narrator: At this word, he frowned and walked away all sad, he had many possessions. Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, Jesus
: What hardly enter the kingdom of God those who have riches Narrator
: The disciples were amazed at these words. But Jesus insisted
Jesus: My children, how difficult it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.
Narrator: They were even more astonished and said among themselves. Pedro
: So who can be saved? Jesus
: For men it is impossible, but not for God, for God all things are possible.
Pedro: Look, we have left everything and followed you.
Jesus: I assure you that everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and the good news, this time receive a hundredfold in homes, brothers, mothers, children and lands, with persecutions but , and the world to come eternal life. D.

Votes. Dare to promise
In many parts of the world, especially in countries influenced by Western culture, we see a loss of confidence in making promises. This can be seen in the crisis of marriage, high divorce rate, and within religious orders in the continuous requests for waivers of the vote, which is a slow, steady bleeding of the life of the Order. What is the point you give your word for life, "even unto death"?
One of the reasons pawning the word is not an act to be considered seriously, is that the words themselves are not important today. Do you have the words in our society? (...). When word commit our votes, we affirm a basic human vocation, we utter words that carry weight and credibility.
still do not know what our vote will mean or where it will lead. How can we dare to utter them? Indeed, only because God our Father has done and we their children, we dare because our Father did it first. From the beginning, the story of salvation is that of a God who makes promises. (...) The fulfillment and culmination of all these promises is the same Jesus Christ, the eternal "Yes" of God. As children of God we dare to give our word without knowing what it will entail. And this is an act of hope, because for many people there is only a promise. When one is plunged into despair, overwhelmed by poverty and unemployment, or trapped by personal failure, then perhaps there is someone else who put trust in God, who has committed to us and, over and over turn, has offered his allegiance to humanity and has taught us through the prophets to hope for salvation (Eucharistic Prayer IV.).
(...) Never before had I understood so well the meaning of the vote, until visiting a very poor neighborhood on the outskirts of Lisbon where he lived forgotten and those without, the invisible in the capital, I found that there was great feast and great joy as a nun, who lived with them, made his solemn profession. That was the party for everyone!
Our generation has been called "the generation now," because culture counts is the present moment. This can be a wonderful source of spontaneity and a freshness and immediacy with which we rejoice. But if the present moment is one of poverty and failure, of defeat and depression, then what hope can one find? The votes, by their nature, reach an unknown future. (...) For many people in our culture, this delivers to a future that is unknown is absurd. How I can bind me to death when I do not know what'll happen or what? What will happen to me in ten or twenty years? Who and how will I find my heart is going to react? For us this event is part of our dignity as children of God and an act of trust in the God of Providence, which will bring up the ram caught by its horns in the bush. Making votes remains an act with a profound sense, a sign of hope in God has promised us the future and, while overflowing imagination, keep His Word.
